Thomas H. Story

Thomas H. Story is the principal
owner of Thomas Story and Son, LLC, a Limited Liability Company. He was born on June 30, 1949, earned his B.S. from Boston University in 1972, M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School, and C.P.A. in 1976.
Prior to establishing Thomas Story & Son, he was Principal of William Blair & Company, L.L.C. from 1980 to 2008.

 

Tom divides time between sailing duties and travel, as well as serving on the Investment and Finance Board at the Culver Educational Foundation, the board at J.R.H. Industries, and Antiquarian and Historical Society.

David Story

David Story, RMA® AIF® is a senior
investment manager, head trader, and research director at Thomas Story and Son, LLC. Born on April 14, 1982, he currently holds a B.S. from Bradley
University (2004), a Masters in Finance from the University of Notre Dame (2017), where he graduated Cum Laude as well as a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has also participated in the Investment Management program at Harvard University as well as the
Value Investing Executive Education Program at Columbia University. David currently holds the designation as a Retirement Management Advisor (RMA®) from the Investments and Wealth Institute and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) from Fi360. Prior to starting with Thomas Story & Son in 2008, David was a financial advisor
at William Blair & Company, L.L.C. from 2006 to 2007 and Wachovia Securities from 2007 to 2008.

His time balances between coaching cross country, baseball and endurance sports while managing the Stanley Clark 5k, as well as his involvement as a mentor and interviewer at Culver Academies for the yearly Culver Connection Weekend on Workplace Ethics.

Katie Fanning

Katie Fanning is the Operations Manager at the firm. With 38 years of experience working alongside Thomas and David at William Blair & Company and Thomas Story & Son, LLC, she works directly with clients regarding administration, cashiering and operations tasks. Her dedication to providing top-notch client service has been noted through the firm's multi-generational relationships over the years.

 

Additionally, Katie dedicates her personal time in Austin between her two teenagers with their personal endeavors, her four-legged friends, time on the lakes, hiking the trails and all things "weird" in Austin.  She also enjoys volunteering to collect necessities and spending time at the local animal shelters.
